MINDFUL CHOICES TO PROTECT YOUR HEART
Our Commitment to Heart-Healthy Eating
Eating for a healthy heart is a public health nutrition campaign dedicated to promoting heart-healthy eating habits. Our approach focuses on empowering individuals to make informed dietary choices, incorporating delicious and nutritious meals, and offering guidance to support a heart-healthy lifestyle.
Our work
We have developed a range of resources including:
• Easy, budget-friendly recipes that are high in fibre, contain beneficial fats, and are low in salt
• Clear, informative leaflets to help you understand the connection between food and heart health
• Free tools and guides to support your journey towards healthier eating habits

We have also actively engaged with local communities across Greater Manchester. Through these sessions, we have shared evidence-based advice on how to support heart health through nutrition, along with practical strategies to help individuals make sustainable, long-term changes to their diet and lifestyle.

Why did we focus on heart health and nutrition?
There are more than 7.6 million people currently living with heart disease in the UK. Heart and Circulatory diseases account for 1 in 4 deaths in the UK, which is even higher in Greater Manchester.
Your heart is your body’s engine, and what you eat and how you move play a huge role in keeping it strong and healthy.
What you eat directly impacts your heart health and diet plays a key role in prevention. Eating a healthy, well-balanced diet can lower your risk of heart disease, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol.
